It must be said, that goal came somewhat against the run of play. Barcelona had started the match well, had created a decent opportunity through Ansu, but Valencia now have the lead.

Barcelona did a poor job of clearing a corner kick, the ball fell to Gaya and the left back cut across the strike! There was no chance for ter Stegen to stop that from finding the back of the net!

Guedes is down! Roberto fouled Guedes as he burst into the opposition half, but despite some concern it looks like the Portuguese international will be able to play the rest of the match.

Into the side netting! Barcelona start the match well with Gavi playing the pass out to Ansu on the left side. His shot is deflected and finds the side netting. Decent opportunity for the hosts!

What sort of match will we get this evening? Barcelona have been in dreadful form in recent weeks, but Valencia have also allowed their form to dip after a good start to the season.

Sergio Aguero could be set to make his first appearance for Barcelona this evening. The Argentine is on the bench after spending the first two months of the season out injured.

Ansu starts! The big team news for Barcelona this evening is that for the first time since November 2020 Ansu Fasti is back in the starting lineup for the Catalan club. That's a big boost!
