FULL TIME
A dramatic ending that was worthy of greater stakes, but Atletico had the the title won with their 2-1 win over Real Valladolid.
Zidane may have taken charge of his last game, and if it is then he goes out on a high.
But oh what could have been, and what drama we would´ve witnessed, had Atletico stayed behind.
There are few celebrations by the Real players. In fact, there are none. They finish the season trophyless.
ATLETICO ARE CHAMPIONS
It´s all over, Atletico have won it.
Real are second but at least they have finished with a win. They´ve done all they can.
This game is still going.
GOAL! REAL MADRID 2 VILLAREAL 1 (Modric 90+3´)
LATE DRAMA!
Modric has put Real in the lead with a brilliant strike!
Can Valladolid grab a goal now?????
Goal
L. Modric
It was actually a pretty great goal.
Emery will be gutted to miss out on the clean sheet.
GOAL! REAL MADRID 1 VILLARREAL 1 (Benzema 87)
They have an equaliser! It means so, so little. But at least they may just avoid defeat.
Benzema puts the finishing touches on a fine season as Rodrygo finds him in the box. He has so much space and finds the top corner.
He´s had a brilliant year and it suits that he tops it off with a goal, even if the title eludes his team.
Goal
K. Benzema
Marcelo whips a cross in that actually almost worms its way into the net.
What´s stunning is just how little Real have created today. Just two shots on goal and not a big chance to speak of.
The Benzema offside goal the closest they came.
REAL HAVE SCORED!
But it´s Real Sociedad against Osasuna.
An extraordinarily uninspiring ending to Real´s season, and perhaps Zidane´s tenureship.
CLOSE!
Modric has a go from distance and he´s not far off! Blasting just wide of the post.

Zidane shouts some halfhearted orders from sidelines. To be fair to him, he still looks seriously stylish even in defeat.
There´s not much urgency to Real´s play now. They look a beaten side, in both this match and in the title challenge.
The bench are on their phones checking the scores, and Atleti are almost champions.
Villarreal are 15 minutes away from putting a huge dampener on what is possibly Zinedine Zidane´s last game in charge of Real Madrid.
And the perfect warm up for their Europa League final next week too.
CHANCE!
Benzema lashes a frustrated shot at goal but it´s just wide!
Marcelo is on for Odriozola too.

Well, at least if Atletico win their match then there can be no ´what ifs´ for Real.
Even if they win it from here, they will still finish second.
Gutierrez and Casemiro are off for Nacho and Mariano.
Real have nothing to lose now, and as always I forget that they can have five subs on the continent.
GOAL ATLETICO!
LUIS SUAREZ HAS GIVEN ATLETICO THE LEAD!
The title firmly in Atletico´s hands now.
Changes for Villarreal now.
Unai Emery brings off Capoue and Bacca for Coquelin and Pena.
Big defensive changes.
It´s just so lethargic from Real, and while they have all of the ball they´re simply not moving fast enough to break down this stubborn Villarreal backline.
Manchester United should be watching closely because these guys are no pushovers at all.
Rodrygo and Isco are on for Vinicius and Asensio.
Big attacking changes.

It´s all Real now. They look encouraged by that disallowed goal. Fire in the bellies.
