Real Madrid have had the better of the first half, but Zidane will surely want to see more in the way of attacking invention from his side in the final third. Some good positions.

Real Sociedad had a four-on-four situation on the rapid counter attack, but their final product is poor and that allows Real Madrid to get back and plug the gaps in defence.

Jovic and Odegaard actually embody some of the problems Zidane has had in rejuvenating his Real Madrid team. The Frenchman has his favourites and they have been the core of his side for years! Jovic was barely given a chance.

Kroos denied at the near post! Real Madrid split open the Real Sociedad defence through a neat little pass from Isco into the path of Kroos, but the German's shot is blocked.

The situation with Odegaard was a strange one. Zidane cut short his two-year Real Sociedad loan stint to recall him back to Real Madrid. And then barely used him. Strange.

Speaking of creative sparks, Odegaard was allowed to leave Real Madrid on loan in January with the Norwegian youngster joining Arsenal until the end of the season. He wanted to play first team football and he has started well in North London!

Off the top of the wall! Isak lines up a freekick from 25 yards out, but his strike clips the top of the Real Madrid wall and goes behind for a corner kick. The Swede has been quiet so far/

Hazard is still struggling with injury for Real Madrid. The Belgian just hasn’t been able to find any sort of consistency for the Spanish. Zidane has missed Hazard as his creative spark.
