With that result, Barcelona have all but secured the league title. They now hold a 14 point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the table and a nine point lead over Atletico Madrid in second place. The hosts didn't make the most of their chances when they had them, then Messi came to the party in the second half.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Real Madrid 0 Barcelona 3 (93 mins - Aleix Vidal). Barcelona are humiliating Real Madrid on their own patch! Great play from Messi sets up Vidal just inside the box and the former Sevilla man squeezes a finish underneath Navas. What a result.

GOMES SHOULD HAVE SCORED! That should have been 3-0 to Barcelona. Gomes had a clear sight on goal, but he somehow managed to scoop his shot over the bar. His shape was all wrong.

It's Barcelona who are seeing more of the ball, driving into the opposition penalty area. They are using their man advantage here and making things tough for Real Madrid.

This game is now over. Real Madrid threw everything they had at Barcelona after the second goal, but it hasn't been enough and now there is a sense of resignation among the hosts.

Paulinho comes off. He's arguably been the best player on the pitch this afternoon.

RAMOS FIRES AT GOAL! The Real Madrid centre back took aim from a tight angle at the near post, but Ter Stegen makes the solid save. There was some power in that effort!

You get the feeling that if Real Madrid were to mount a fightback, Bale really needed to take that chance. The hosts are giving it everything they've got, but they're leaving the back door open.

FLASHES WIDE! With Real Madrid attacking, they get caught out at the back, with Semedo getting in behind. But the full back flashes a shot across the face of goal. It might have been a save, actually.

This will be the first time in six matches that Valverde has managed to get the better of Real Madrid as a manager. The former Athletic Bilbao coach has got things spot on today.

WHAT A CHANCE FOR BALE! That would have been some introduction. The pass was cut back to Bale, who was free six yards out, but Ter Stegen made a reflex save to deny him.

This result will mean that Real Madrid are a massive 14 points behind Barcelona at the top of La Liga. Real still have a game in hand, but they surely won't come back from that deficit.
