Ultimately, that was just too easy for Barcelona. They barely broke a sweat seeing off a Malaga team that looks doomed down near the bottom of the Spanish Liga table. Messi was missing for the Catalans, but they were able to call on the match-winning quality of Coutinho and Suarez. A good performance from them.
FULL TIME: Malaga 0-2 Barcelona
Just two minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the match.
The understanding between Coutinho, Dembele and Suarez has been one real positive for the away side this evening. It shows that they can actually play without Messi.
THAT WAS CLOSE! Coutinho looked to be clean through on Roberto in the Malaga goal after a wonderful chipped pass by Suarez, but Ricca makes the sliding challenge at the last gasp.
This game has been over for a long time now and it just feels like both sides are waiting for the final whistle. Barcelona are still coming forward, but it feels a little half-hearted.
There's another Barcelona change and Vidal comes on for the away side.

That booking means that Suarez will miss the home game against Athletic Bilbao next week. Was that a deliberate yellow card from the Barcelona striker? They have been known to do that sort of thing in La Liga.
Suarez is shown a second yellow for trodding on the back of an opponent's leg. He did stick out a leg.

There was a question held against Barcelona this evening, with Messi missing. But they have brushed aside Malaga with little issue. They have barely got out of second gear.
This isn't looking good for Malaga. They are doomed at the foot of La Liga. They have won just three games, an drawn just four, all season long. On this evidence, they're going down.
And the second change sees Success come on for Malaga.

It looks like Gomes has slotted in at right back after being brought on to replace Roberto. I'm not entirely sure if the Portuguese has played in that position before tonight.
HALF CHANCE! That was as close as Malaga have come to a goal in this second half. Lestienne turned and fired a shot across the face of goal, but there were no takers.
Here's Barcelona's first change of the match and it's Gomes on for Roberto.
