A fantastic start to life in La Liga from Girona. For so long it looked like they were about to claim all three points in their top flight bow, but Atletico Madrid mounted a sensational comeback with just 10 men to salvage a point. Plenty for Simeone to ponder after this one.

BIG OBLAK SAVE! Wow, that was the moment for Girona to claim the win. The header came in from Kayode, but the Atletico Madrid goalkeeper made a reflex save to keep it level.

Girona would have taken a draw against Atletico Madrid before kick off to start their Liga season, but considering that they were 2-0 up at half time, they'd be disappointed with this.

There's still plenty time for a winner from either of these two teams. The referee has been pretty generous with the stoppage time. Can Girona or Atletico Madrid grab all three points?

ALCALA STRIKES OVER THE BAR! Girona were given a golden chance on the edge of the box, but the defender strikes the freekick over the crossbar. That was an opportunity for the hosts.

Iraizoz's decision to come flying off his line for a freekick has really cost Girona. It was a case of the La Liga newbies switching off for the set piece after making a change from the bench.

What a sensational fightback from Atletico Madrid! They aren't really playing with any sort of system and they have somehow find a way to fight back 2-0 down to 2-2. Great spirit.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Girona 2 Atletico Madrid 2 (85 mins - Jose Maria Gimenez). Incredible! What a start to the season this is in La Liga! Gimenez gets on the end of a freekick into the area, with Iraizoz well off his line, finding the back of the net with a header.

Kayode, one of the Manchester City loanees, comes on for Girona. Only six minutes to hold out for.

BIG MISS FROM VIETTO! That was the chance for Atletico Madrid to grab something from this game. Vietto was slid through but the Argentine leaned back and flashed his shot over the bar.

That was the first time in this match that an Atletico Madrid player has been willing to take on opposition players. They have been so tame in that regard. Correa's approach refreshing.

All of a sudden Atletico Madrid have renewed urgency and a chance of getting something from this game. Simeone is more animated on the touchline now. This is on.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Girona 2 Atletico Madrid 1 (78 mins - Angel Correa). That's a senational strike and has given Atletico Madrid a lifeline. Correa dribbled past three Girona defenders and lashed home a finish high into the opposition net. What a goal.

GARCIA SHOT OVER! Yet more space for Girona to exploit on the edge of the box, but Garcia sends his effort over the crossbar. He probably should have hit the target from there.

Torres has been extremely quiet this evening and so he has been hooked for Vietto.
