Well, that certainly wasn't a vintage Barcelona goal, but they did more than enough to claim all three points. Of course, there will be controversy over the opener given that the ball seemed to be out of play when the cross was made, but the hosts were much better than Malaga over the course of the 90 minutes.

In truth, Barcelona probably should have scored more than two this evening. Malaga haven't offered much in the way of attacking threat, with the hosts taking it easy on them.

PAULINHO OVER THE BAR! The Brazilian and Messi linked up well inside the box, with the ball eventually falling back to the midfielder. However, he could only scoop his shot over.

This is certainly a strange period in the career of Suarez. There is no doubt that he is an exceptional striker, but he has been in atrocious form so far this season. He must improve.

ROBERTO SHOOTS WIDE! The right back turned right winger weaves inside and takes on one, two, three defenders before shooting at goal, but he sends his effort just wide of the far post.

This is a rare opportunity for Alcacer, with Suarez coming off to be replaced.

Junapi takes aim and aims a shot towards goal, but the ball ends up in the arms of Ter Stegen. He wasn't really bothered by that. Most of Malaga's chances have been half chances, at best.

Paulinho has very quickly endeared himself to the Camp Nou crowd. He arrived as something of a scapegoat but they now accept that he brings something different to the team.

The yellow card is shown to Umtiti. He hasn't had the best of nights at centre back.

And now Paulinho is coming on for the final 10 minutes or so, with Busquets coming off for a break.

What is up with Suarez at the moment? He has been dreadful so far this season. It was assumed that it was just a dip in form, but is it something more than that? He's struggling big time.
