Barcelona take a giant step towards the league title with a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid. Messi's stunning freekick strike in the first half ended up being the difference between the two sides, but why did Simeone wait so long to open up his side and have a real go at the Catalans? Who knows how this game would have gone had they done that earlier.

Is there one last chance left for Atletico Madrid? The Barcelona fans inside the Camp Nou are jumping around and waving their scarves. Are their celebrations a bit too early?

SO CLOSE! The Camp Nou thought that was in. Messi plays the ball to Suarez, who goes for the chip to the far post, but it didn't have the curl to drop in. It was too straight!

That's a no nonsese clearance from Alba. Suarez chases the ball all the way down the pitch and Godin brings down the Barcelona striker. Good play to waste some more time.

Initially, it seemed that Costa had been penalised for a push inside the box, but replays show that the Spanish international was offside when the cross was played. Tight, but right.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.......NO! Atletico Madrid have a goal ruled out in controversial circumstances. Costa knows down to Gameiro, who slams home the finish, but it's disallowed!

Coutinho actually enjoyed quite a good game for Barcelona. There is a sense that the former Liverpool playmaker is starting to find his feet at the Camp Nou. He's settling in.

One Brazilian for another as Paulinho comes on to replace Coutinho.

Time is running out for Atletico Madrid here. They have been much better, far more positive, in this second half, but that hasn't translated into chances in front of goal.

That was a laughable attempt to con the referee. Costa hit the ground to try and win a penalty kick, but the man in the middle wasn't fooled. There was hardly any contact at all.

PENALTY CLAIM! Coutinho dances past Thomas and into the Atletico Madrid box, with Saul barging the Brazilian over. Was that a spot kick? Some half-hearted appeals from the home players.

Barcelona seem to have taken a grip of the game again. Atletico Madrid had been enjoying a spell on top, but now it's the Catalan league leaders who are pressing and probing.

REFLEX SAVE! Busquets, of all people, met a cross on the volley at the back post, forcing Oblak into a reflex save. That could have quite easily creeped past the Atletico goalkeeper.

SUAREZ GOAL CHALKED OFF! The Barcelona striker believes that he has scored his team's second, but the flag was up for offside. He was clearly beyond the last defender.

This time it's a straight swap for Atletico, with Lucas coming on for Filipe for the final 15 minutes.
