Atletico Madrid came out flying for the start of the second half, but as I say, Villarreal have used the injury stoppage to regain control. They have taken the sting out of the second half.

That injury time out for Asenjo has actually stemmed Atletico Madrid when they looked to have started the second half with renewed urgency. That might have worked to Villarreal's favour.

It looks like Asenjo is going to continue here fo Villarreal, but he is currently going through some checks. I think they are checking for concussion. Seems to be okay.

Now Asenjo is down on the turf receiving treatment for a knock sustained in making that save from Griezmann. Oblak has already been forced off for Atletico Madrid tonight.

ASENJO NEEDED TO MAKE A SAVE! Juanfran got down the right side and put a low cross into the six yard box for Griezmann, but the keeper came off his line to make the intervention.

What did you make of the first half from El Madrigal? Is there any way for Atletico Madrid to get back into this match? Do they deserve to be 2-0 down? Tweet me!

HALF TIME: Villarreal 2-0 Atletico Madrid. Really disappointing half from an Atletico Madrid perspective. I would say Simeone needs to make changes, but he's already made two.

Is there a way back into this match for Atletico Madrid? They are in big trouble now. They are two goals down away from home and have already used two of their subs.

Indeed, there's the switch from Simeone. It's an enforced one, with Moya coming on.

OBLAK CHANGE? Things could be about to get worse for Atletico Madrid. The Slovenian appears to have sprung his shoulder in that last goal. They will need to make a change.

This is so unlike Atletico Madrid. Well, it's so unlike the Atletico Madrid of old. There has been too many defensive errors from them over the past few weeks. This is becoming a habit.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Villarreal 2 (37 mins - Jonathan Dos Santos) Atletico Madrid 0. The home side have doubled their advantage! Dos Santos bundles the ball home after an almighty fumble by Oblak. Really poor goalkeeping.

Just realised I have been spelling Sergio Asenjo's name as in Marco Asensio. Getting my surnames mixed up here. I'll get it right from now on.

It has just been announced that Griezmann finished third in the Ballon d'Or voting. However, the striker has gone seven gams without a goal for Atletico. Could do with breaking that run tonight.

I don't think that change was down to injury. Tiago doesn't look too happy on the bench, there was no limp, and so it would seem Simeone made a tactical switch after that goal.

BIG CHANCE FOR GRIEZMANN! That was a good response from Atletico Madrid. Griezmann was put in behind the Villarreal defence, but Asensio came off his line to make the save.
