It was tough going in the second half, but Simeone's side have claimed another three points. They were good value for it. Carrasco and Gameiro were both exceptional for Atletico Madrid. The scoreline doesn't reflect how dominant they were.

RED CARD! Chory is shown a second yellow card for a clip of the heels of Gabi and it's all level in terms of players again.

I think this says a lot about the new Atletico Madrid. Before they might have sat behind the ball with 10 men, but tonight they went for a fourth goal on the counter attack and got it.

Atletico Madrid have been down to 10 men for half an hour but it looks like they are about to notch another three points. An impressive response from Simeone's side.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Atletico Madrid 4 (86 mins - Yannick Carrasco) Malaga 2. Atletico Madrid needed a goal to settle this match and Carrasco has provided it! What a sensational goal from the Belgian, finding the net from a tight angle.

The home fans want a red card! Ricca brought down Correa about 25 yards out, but there was a case to be made that he was the last man. It's a yellow, though.

The Atletico Madrid goalkeeper enters the referee's book for time wasting. Atletico Madrid are shaken here.

Simeone looks quite wound up on the touchline, and you can understand why. Malaga have really come back into this game and they feel they can get something from it. They're pressing.

I don't think many expected this game to end in this way, but I'm quite glad it has. This encounter was lacking in intensity and tempo. Well, it certainly has plenty of that now.

OFF THE CROSSBAR! Carrasco's freekick from the left wing had Kameni beaten, but his effort crashes off the woodwork and Malaga survive. That was close to a fourth goal.

There's another change from the away side, and again it's an attacking one. They believe they can get something from this game, that's for sure.

I'm not quite sure how Malaga have worked their way back into this match, but they have. They were second best for so long, but they are the ones pressing things now.

This has been a very strange performance from Atletico Madrid. They have looked so dangerous going forward, but have looked unusually vulnerable to set pieces at the back.

There's another yellow card and this game is starting to hot up. It might not be over. Malaga are well in this.
