Suarez, who scored 82 goals in 133 games during his time at Anfield, recognised the influence Rodgers had on his career and highlighted the Northern Irishman’s ability to bring the best out of him.
Having taken his career on in electrifying fashion since moving to Barcelona, the 29-year-old took the opportunity to pick out what made Rodgers such a significant part of his development while in England.

'One of the best coaches in Europe'

“He is one of the best coaches in Europe and I am not surprised he is looking to get back in to the game because it is a game he loves," Suarez told the Liverpool Echo.
“I am glad he has taken his time since leaving Liverpool. He should only be looking at the top jobs, with the top clubs, who will be playing Champions League football.
“Such a big part of my education is down to him and his management.
“Of course he works to make the team stronger but he really works on a one-to-one level with the players.
“He will sit down with each player at the club, and work on where you can improve, where you can exploit opposition, he leaves nothing to chance.
Suarez, who signed for Liverpool in January 2011, has enjoyed another stunning season for Barcelona with Luis Enrique’s side clinching the La Liga title thanks in a large part to the striker’s goals.

OUR VIEW

Celtic are reportedly on the brink of acquiring Rodgers’s services and it appears a real coup for the club. Suarez offers a very generous and flattering assessment of the former Liverpool boss’ ability to bring the best out of players and, if a star of his calibre is saying that, it really does speak volumes.
