The visitors have started with great intent as they continue to build pressure on Deportivo who have 11 men behind the ball. Marcelo delivers a cross into the penalty area but it's cleared.

Real have started brightly as Bale wriggles his way into the penalty area and tries to find Ronaldo but his pass is blocked.

At the end of February, Real Madrid were nine points off the leaders Barcelona but having won 11 consecutive games, they could clinch the La Liga title in dramatic circumstances on the final day. The Whites have notched 20 goals in the last nine away games and Deportivo will do well to hold the visitors today.

Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid: "We have to start the game well. It will be a tricky game away from home. Deportivo are a good team who know how to play football. They will want to end the season in the best possible way in front of their fans. We need to be focussed on what we have to do from the first minute to the last. It will be difficult, but we will fight to try and win. We have faith in La Liga. We have won the last 11 games and we are one point behind. We are going to keep the faith until the end, until the last minute, the last second."

The sad news broke this morning...

Deportivo have made three changes at the back from the side which beat Villarreal last time out. Stipe Pletikosa replaces Manu, 40-year-old Manuel Pablo is handed a rare start at right-back and Navarro replaces Juanfran at left back.

Zinedine Zidane makes five changes for all this all-important clash. Real Madrid are virtually at full-strength with Keylor Navas returning in goal and Dani Carvajal and Pepe in defence. Luka Modric and Gareth Bale take their places in midfield.
