Report: David de Gea's Real Madrid move close after Iker Casillas agrees Porto switch
David de Gea's transfer to Real Madrid has moved closer after Iker Casillas agreed to leave for Porto, according to reports.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper had been wary of competing with the Bernabeu legend which was reportedly holding up his switch from Manchester United.
But the Porto move will allow Real to snatch De Gea. The two clubs are yet to agree a price but United value the goalkeeper at £25 million, according to The Sun.
Casillas had wanted to complete his contract, which had two years to run. However, the 34-year-old appears to have changed his mind.
The Real skipper’s agent Carlo Cutropia confirmed: “Iker is interested in Porto and Porto are interested in Iker.”

All may not be as it seems here. For Casillas to suddenly change his mind and leave the club he has been at for 16 years, without even fighting for his place, seems strange.
He is the captain and by all accounts a powerful figure within the club. So, unless he has been shown the door by president Florentino Perez, there may well be another reason for his agent to get involved and publicly declare the goalkeeper’s interest in Porto.
This saga has been running all summer and it will probably have a few twists and turns yet.
