Cristiano Ronaldo’s main inspiration is.... Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that the main inspiration behind his success is himself.
The Real Madrid man has never been short of self-confidence and it was in full flow during an interview with Unscriptd.
Ronaldo uploaded a video to Facebook of the interview titled "Have you ever wonder who my childhood idols were?"
However, before the three-time Ballon d’Or winner revealed his childhood heroes, he had a few self-congratulatory words for himself.
"Most of the time, I inspired myself. I'm self-motivated,” began Ronaldo.
"But at an early age, I was looking at a big reference in the national team. For example, [Luis] Figo, Rui Costa, Fernando Couto. It was like kind of a dream to achieve that level.
"I'd look at them and I'd speak for myself: I want to be a professional player and I want to play for the national team. But I don't have a specific one person that I just follow."
In fact Ronaldo revealed that he looks to other sports for inspiration.
"Of course, I appreciate other players, talented players, great players; not just in football but in other sports because you know people enjoy to see, in different specific sports – in tennis, in Formula One football – the best ones.
“You should be humble to know that other guys can help you in this kind of way.”
