Rayo's Alberto Bueno is on a roll heading into today's game, having scored four goals in just 14 minutes against Levante last weekend. The former Derby player is joined by Gael Kakuta, on loan from Chelsea, in an attack-minded side.

Barca have won all seven meetings with Rayo since the Madrid club returned to the Spanish top flight in 2012. The Catalans are in form too having won three games in a row - in three different competitions - since losing their last home game, 1-0 to Malaga. Enrique's side also secured their passage to the Copa del Rey final during the week.

Meanwhile, Rayo coach Paco Jemez, a former international team-mate of Enrique, says his side will attack today: "I don’t care if we lose by one or by seven, what we’re certainly not going to do is go there to defend … The idea is to go for it, to enjoy ourselves, compete and do what teams like Celta and Málaga have done. They knew that it would be difficult to beat them, but they did.”

Barca boss Luis Enrique believes Rayo will give his side a run for their money, possession-wise: “All opponents pose their own threat, but Rayo are one of the teams with most personality in the league … They are one of the few teams who will be challenging for possession. We are really looking forward to this game … If they pressure us well and we aren’t at our very best then we will suffer. Just like when we play teams who come and park the bus, we’ll have to find a solution or the game could get difficult.”
