The history books will record a 2-1 win for Barcelona but in truth Martino's side deserved more than that. Real Madrid never truly threatened, besides Rodriguez's late goal and Ancelotti will have to go back to the drawing board if Los Blancos are to claw back the six point gap between them and Barca.

So is that a consolation goal for Real Madrid or the start of a comeback? They've got a matter of seconds to find a second. Attack!

Even at this point Barcelona look the hungrier of the two sides. However, it would be naive to say that's been the only difference between the two. Barca have out-thought and out-played their rivals.

Khedira is played clean through on goal by a clever freekick from Modric, but after angling his body to guide the ball into the opposite corner he plants his effort into the hands of Valdes. Ronaldo looks up at the sky and asks 'why wasn't that me?'

This result would take Barcelona ten points clear of their rivals after just 10 league games played. Would that be the Liga title race over for Real Madrid?

Worth noting that when coming off Neymar received a standing ovation from the Camp Nou crowd. They've warmed to their new hero.

Dani Alves runs down the right side and nutmegs Ronaldo to surge through on goal. However, the angle is to tight and Lopez saves with his legs. That would have been the icing on the Catalan cake.

Looks like Tata Martino is going to get off to a winning start as far as his Clasico career is concerned. His side has been the better of the two sides.

Real Madrid win a corner but Benzema's delivery is poor and Barcelona clear it comfortably at the near post. Missed opportunity for the visitors.

So do Real Madrid have anything left now? Ronaldo is instructing his teammates where he wants the bal. He's taking it upon himself.

That was an excellent finish by Sanchez but you have to question what Lopez was doing so far off his line. As soon as the ball came forward you could see what was going to happen. Poor goalkeeping.

GOAL! Barcelona 2-0 Real Madrid (79 mins - Alexis Sanchez). What a finish! The Chilean latches on to a long ball forward and chips it over Lopez, who was off his line. Wonderful!

With that final change Ancelotti has eliminated the possibility of Isco entering the fray. That's something of a surprise. His creativity is exactly what Real Madrid are missing at the moment. No pressure Rodriguez.
