FULL-TIME: Athletic Bilbao 1-2 Atletico Madrid
A freekick is punted into the Atletico box, with no less than four players falling over trying to reach it first. The shot eventually comes in from Iraola, but it's cleared and the away team come away on the break, wasting time in the corner.
Three minutes of stoppage time to be played.
Atletico Madrid sub: Diego Costa OFF, David Villa ON.
Costa has been bundled to the ground by San Jose, with both players challenging for the ball inside the centre circle. It actually looks like Villa is about to come on for the Spanish international striker.
After building up such momentum it now looks like Athletic's challenge to the Atletico Madrid goal might be over now.
Laporte is shown a second yellow card after bringing down Costa as he dribbled his way through the Athletic defence. But if the referee had just played on a few seconds more, Rodriguez would have been clean through on goal!
SENT OFF! Aymeric Laporte (Athletic Bilbao) - second yellow card
Athletic are coming forward. The changes have had their desired effect, with Torquero in particular impressive since coming on. Can they find an equaliser? The San Mames crowd are roaring them on.
Only a few yards past the post! Just before the changes Munian cut in off the left wing and winds up his shot from 20 yards out, but with Courtois struggling the ball flashes wide of the target.
Atletico Madrid sub: Raul Garcia OFF, Cristian Rodriguez ON.
Athletic Bilbao sub: Mikel Rico OFF, Benat Etxeberria ON.
Incredible save by Courtois! Torquero stages a cross up into the six yard box, with Aduriz leaping above everyone else to head the ball towards goal. But with it heading towards the top corner the Belgian keeper claws it over the bar!
YELLOW CARD: Iker Munian (Athletic Bilbao)
Huge claims for a spot kick for the home side! Torquero is felled in the box by Turan but the referee waves away his claims for a penalty. The San Mames is up in arms! It wa a hefty challenge, for sure.
So Valderde has changes things up. Will it not have a positive effect on his team in these final 10 minutes or so? Can they claim anything, boosting their own Champions League chances and hurting Atletico's title challenge in the process?
Athletic Bilbao sub: Oscar De Marcos OFF, Goazka Toquero ON.
There's a confidence about Atletico Madrid at the moment. They're stroking the ball about with ease and are taking the pace and sting out of the game. They're good at that.
The introduction of Turan mid-way through the second half actually seems to have freed up Juanfran, who has been up and down the right wing much more than he was in the first half.
