HALF TIME: Not Real Madrid at their best, but they've done enough to lead this match.

GOAL! OZIL SCORES! Cusp of half-time and Real get their goal. It had been coming. Ozil dances in from the right, swaps a pass with Benzema, and slides the ball past the keeper on his near post.

Cheeky chip from Ronaldo to play in Callejon, but the latter has misjudged his run and is clearly offside.

PABON HITS THE BAR! First-time hit from just outside the penalty area after Benat teed him up, and that's one strike of the woodwork each for these sides.

Benzema and Ozil swap intricate passes, and the German goes down in the penalty area under pressure - no foul committed, though.

First glimpse of the afternoon of Iker Casillas sat mournfully on the sidelines.

That's as close as Real have got, but still goalless after 40 minutes at the Bernabeu.

RONALDO HITS THE POST! What a hit from 25 yards! Stepover or two to create room, then a fierce low shot that slams into the post. The rebound catches Benzema offside.

Benat with another attempt from distance as the ball breaks his way - well wide, but again Betis are getting forward and starting to create chances.

CASTRO! Should have done better - the high cross stood up nicely for him, and he had plenty of time to place his header. In the end, he loops it over the bar. Betis' best opportunity.

Not miles away - Pabon's delivery is met on the volley by Campbell, who hooks it just wide.

Pabon works his way down the left, but runs out of space. At the second attempt, however, he jinks free of Callejon and carries on down the touchline.

Diego Lopez makes a save, although there was very little behind Benat's poked effort from just outside the area.
