CHELSEA'S MIDFIELD POSITIONING, PART TWO
Barkley is to the right, and Kovacic is to the left as the visitors dominate the early possession. A ball forwards from Azpiicueta finds his opposing compatriot Fernandez in the home penalty area, but Chelsea recover his long kick and rebuild down the left through Alonso and Kovacic.
THE VISITING MIDFIELD
Barkley and Kovacic are a little more advanced in the engine room for the away side, with Saul Niguez the deepest-lying of the midfield three. It's definitely more of a 3-5-2 for the European champions as they match their hosts up.
EARLY OBSERVATIONS
It is Xavier Simons on the right flank for the Blues with Jude Soonsup-Bell leading the line with Harvey Vale.

Brentford have played lower-league opposition in every round they've faced in this competition, coming through 3-1 against Forest Green, whalloping Oldham 7-0, and sneaking past Stoke at the bet365 Stadium in the most recent encounter.
Chelsea meanwhile have had to win penalty shootouts to make it to tonight's clash: they've beaten Aston Villa and Southampton on spot-kicks in the previous two stages.
