SIX OF THE BEST FOR BARCELONA AS LA LIGA CHAMPIONS RUN RIOT
Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Fermin Lopez scored twice each as Barcelona warmed up for their UEFA Champions League clash against Newcastle United with a 6-0 rout of Valencia in La Liga.
The reigning Spanish champions will head to St James’ Park for their Champions League opener on Thursday, live on TNT Sports and disccovery+, and they will do so while holding onto second place in La Liga, behind Real Madrid.
Hansi Flick, shorn of the injured Lamine Yamal, named a second-string attack at Estadi Johan Cruyff, with Barca having to play their first home game of the season at the venue of their women’s team and reserves due to a delay to the reopening of Camp Nou.
Raphinha started on the bench, but the Brazilian came on for the second half to devastating effect, as he scored twice to put the Blaugrana in complete control, tucking in from a superb Marcus Rashford cross before drilling home on the half-volley.
Those strikes came either side of a spectacular attempt from Fermin, who had opened the scoring in the first half, and there was still time for Lewandowski to get in on the act as he dispatched two typically cool finishes following his introduction.

FULL-TIME: BARCELONA 6-0 VALENCIA
What a performance from Barca, who have absolutely run riot at Estadi Johan Cruyff.
Fermin Lopez, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski have got their goals, five of which came in a sizzling second-half display.
The Blaugrana are up to second in La Liga, and they will be relishing going up against Newcastle in their Champions League opener next week.
Valencia, meanwhile, will return home with their tail firmly between their legs after this humiliation. They were terrible, managing just two attempts all game, though with Barca in such a fervent mood going forward, it is hard to pin too much blame on the visitors.

TWO MINUTES
Just two minutes of added time for Valencia to get through before they can call it a day here. What a torrid trip north it has been for them.

YOU SURE CAN
What a day for the Blaugrana.

GOAL!!! BARCELONA 6-0 VALENCIA (LEWANDOWSKI)
And there it is! Six of the best for Barca!
A sublime move saw Bernal feed Lewandowski, and the veteran striker made no mistake with a quite superb finish over the goalkeeper.
Barca's night just keeps getting better and better.

OFFSIDE
Lewandowski has just dinked in a delightful second, and this looks as if it will stand. The flag went up for offside, but the Pole was clearly the right side of the defence.

BERNAL RETURNS
A standing ovation now from the fans as Barca's Pedri makes way for Bernal, who is back in action after over a year out injured.

GOAL!!! BARCELONA 5-0 VALENCIA (LEWANDOWSKI)
It's five! And it's another absolute beauty!
Lewandowski gets in on the act as he bundles his way into the area before arrowing a sublime finish towards the top-right corner. It kisses the crossbar and then rattles in.
What a performance this has been from Barca in the second half. Oustanding stuff.

DOUBLE TROUBLE
71'
VALENCIA HAVE HAD A SHOT
This is not a drill! In the 71st minute, the visitors have had their first attempt.
Gaya lofted in a cross to substitute Rioja, who took the ball down on his chest and then quickly got off a snapshot. It skipped into the hands of Garcia, but hey, it's something!

HAT-TRICK CHANCE
It looks for all the world as if Raphinha will score again as he cuts in on that devastating right foot, but from the edge of the area, the Brazil international fails to connect properly, and slices his attempt well wide.

DOUBLE CHANGE
Rashford and Ferran have made way for Barca, and both of them can consider themselves unfortunate not to have scored today.
Lewandowski and Olmo are on, with Flick seemingly keen to get some minutes in their legs ahead of the trip to St James' Park on Thursday.

GOAL!! BARCELONA 4-0 VALENCIA (RAPHINHA)
Raphinha is at the double too!
This is turning into a rout at Estadi Johan Cruyff, where Raphinha has just performed a bit of Brazilian magic.
After getting fortunate with a loose touch that bounced up kindly off two Valencia defenders, Raphinha wasted no time in letting rip with a venomous half-volley that nestled in the bottom-left corner.
What an impact from the bench!

VALENCIA SUB
Three changes were already made by Corberan shortly after Barca scored their third goal, and now the former West Brom boss has made a fourth switch, with defender Diakhaby – who was on a booking – making way.
It was Diakhaby who just denied Rashford a few minutes ago.
