YAMAL SCORES STUNNING GOAL AS BARCA CLAIM SPANISH TITLE
Lamine Yamal netted a trademark stunning long-range strike as Barcelona wrapped up their 28th La Liga title with an impressive 2-0 win at bitter city rivals Espanyol.
After completing a 4-3 win over Real Madrid at the weekend, Barca moved an unassailable seven points clear of Los Blancos with two games remaining of the campaign at the RCDE Stadium, home of their local derby foes.
Having won the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey, Hansi Flick's side made it a domestic treble with 17-year-old Spain winger Yamal finding a sublime opener on 53 minutes as he crashed a left-foot shot high into the net from 22 yards to silence the home support.
Leandro Cabrera was sent off for the home side via VAR for lashing out at Yamal on 78 minutes before substitute Fermin Lopez accepted a pass from Yamal six minutes into added time to fire low into the net.
Despite producing a stout effort in the first half, Espanyol have now gone 28 matches without a win against Barca, the longest winless run of any local derby in the history of La Liga.
Barca have also astonishingly secured the Liga crown three times in the 21st century at the home of Espanyol, one more than their title-winning successes at the Camp Nou.

It doesn't rain, but it pours for the home side who are down to 10 men. Cabrera is sent off for lashing out at Yamal as he tried to win the ball out wide. All a bit silly as VAR makes the call. And Espanyol are reduced to 10.
