Carlo Ancelotti: Real Madrid boss says he will ‘never have a fight’ with club amid rumours about future

Carlo Ancelotti shut down the growing discussions surrounding his Real Madrid future as rumours linking him to the Brazilian national team swirl alongside reports that Xabi Alonso could replace him next season. After losing in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals and the Copa del Rey final, Real have five La Liga games left to overtake Barcelona and finish a disappointing season on a high.

Carlo Ancelotti made it clear he has no interest in discussing his future until the end of Real Madrid’s season.
Madrid suffered a humiliating 5-1 loss to Arsenal across two legs in the UEFA Champions League, and followed that up by losing to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final on Sunday.
The race for the La Liga title is still alive as they sit four points behind Barca with five games remaining, but it has been an overall disappointing season for Los Blancos.
The Brazilian national team are reportedly eyeing Ancelotti as their next coach, whilst current Bayer Leverkusen manager and former Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso could head to Santiago Bernabeu in place of the Italian.
"I have a lot of affection for my club, my players and the fans, and at the same time, respect," Ancelotti said in his press conference on Saturday.
"I'll talk about my future on May 25, and not before. I don't have to talk now about what might happen on May 25."
His contract in the Spanish capital runs until June 2026, but the club are aware it may be time to move on from Ancelotti after this season, and likely would not stand in the way of him taking charge of Brazil.
"I understand that you [the media] want to talk about my future, but I don't, it's a lack of communication between us," he continued. "I know exactly what I have to do, and what I'm going to do, which is not talk about my future today.
"I don't know what will happen, but however it is, it will be a fantastic farewell."
Whether the club decide his future for him or the 65-year-old takes a position elsewhere, Ancelotti insists there will be no bad blood between him and Real as he wraps up his second tenure there.
"I'll never have a fight with the club," he said. I haven't had one in six years and I never will. I won't allow myself to have a fight with my club on the last day, which could be May 25. It could be 2026 or 2030. Whenever it is, it will be a beautiful day."

While rumours around his future swirl, reports linking Alonso to the Bernabeu have come to light, but Ancelotti insisted he is not upset with the rumours and maintains a "fantastic" relationship with the club.
"I have a great relationship with the club, we talk about everything, we always have," added Ancelotti. "The relationship is fantastic. The news stories are what they are, and a lot of it isn't true."
With five games remaining and four points adrift of Hansi Flick's Barca side, the league title is still within Ancelotti's reach.
But a growing number of injuries threatens to rain on their parade as Antonio Rudiger, Ferland Mendy and David Alaba were all ruled out for the clash, joining Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao on the casualties list.
