As far as pre-season friendlies go, that was one of the better ones. Plenty to pick apart after the full time whistle. Arsenal looked to be in control of things, but then allowed the match to get away from them in the second half. The sending off of Sokratis and the introduction of Bale really changed things.
PENALTY MISSED! Burton blasts his effort well over the crossbar and Real Madrid win the penalty shootout 3-2!
PENALTY SCORED! Real Madrid 3-2 Arsenal: That wasn't a good penalty from Vinicius, but he squeezes his finish past Martinez.
PENALTY MISSED! Real Madrid 2-2 Arsenal: Monreal sends the goalkeeper the wrong way, but his spot kick comes back off the post!
PENALTY SCORED! Real Madrid 2-2 Arsenal: Varane shoots down the middle and he finds the roof of the net. Solid spot kick from the Frenchman.
PENALTY SCORED! Real Madrid 1-2 Arsenal: It's the 17-year-old Saka who steps up for Arsenal and scores.
PENALTY SCORED! Real Madrid 1-1 Arsenal: Isco steps up and despite Martinez guessing the right way he finds the corner of the net.
PENALTY SAVED! Real Madrid 0-1 Arsenal: Another disappointing spot kick! Xhaka sends his shot right down the middle and Courtois makes the stop.
PENALTY SAVED! Real Madrid 0-1 Arsenal: It's Bale who takes the first spot kick for Real Madrid, but it's a poor one and Martinez makes the save.
PENALTY SCORED! Real Madrid 0-1 Arsenal: It's Nelson who takes the first penalty kick. He had to take it twice, but he finds the bottom corner of the net.
FULL TIME: Real Madrid 2-2 Arsenal. We're going to a penalty shootout!
We're just seconds away from a penalty shootout to decide this International Champions Cup match. Is there time for one last opportunity for either team to find a late winner?
Strike from distance! We all know that Xhaka can hit them from range, but the Swiss midfielder doesn't quite catch his effort and Courtois can make the straightforward save.
Nelson had options on his left and right as Arsenal burst forward on the counter attack, but he dithered on the ball and that allowed Real Madrid to win it and launch a counter of their own.
There will be four minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.
Nketiah has been excellent for Arsenal these past couple weeks, but he should have done better with those two opportunities. That was the chance to win this game for the Gunners.
Another Nketiah chance! The young striker has been excellent in pre-season so far, but he should have scored there as well. He glanced a header wide of the far post with the goal gaping.
Massive chance! That was the moment for Arsenal to win this match. Nketiah was played clean in on goal, Courtois stayed rather than coming out, but the Belgian smothered the effort.
Bale's introduction has electrified this match. He has made such a difference for Real Madrid. Is there a winner left in this for one of these two sides? Still five minutes left to play.
Arsenal have managed to gather themselves in the last few minutes and are giving it a go to find a winner. However, the final ball (this time from Nelson) hasn't been good enough.
