Rapaic:'I want to go home'

Croatia's Milan Rapaic has told Standard Liege that he wants to return home and will not play for the club in the new season. Rapaic has told sporting director Michel Preud'homme that he wanted to return to Hajduk Split despite still having a year left on his contract, the club's website said.

Preud'homme said Standard were unhappy with Rapaic's decision but would not stand in his way if another club wanted to buy him.
"Milan has a contract with us which we will hold him to," Preud'homme said. "However, if a reasonable bid comes in then we would consider it."
Standard have received no official bid from Hajduk or any other club for the Croatia international, who scored six goals last term.
The loss of Rapaic, who turns 32 this month, will increasepressure on coach Dominique D'Onofrio to keep Serbian defenderIvica Dragutinovic.
Standard have already turned down a 500,000 euro ($618,000) bid for Dragutinovic from Greek side Olympiakos, who are managed by former Bruges coach Trond Sollied.
Anderlecht and Spartak Moscow are also believed to be interested in the 29-year-old.
The club also lost out in the race to sign Nigerian striker Tosin Dosunmu, who agreed on Friday to join Belgian cup holders GBA from Austria Vienna on loan for the season.
Bruges and Excelsior Mouscron play the first match of the Belgian season later on Friday. Standard open their new campaign at home to Lierse on Saturday.
