The 37-year-old has left Krylya Sovetov Samara despite an impressive campaign for Sergei Oborin's side but is unwilling to call time on his lengthy spell in the game.
"I spoke to Oborin and he told me he wants a younger squad," explained Kanchelskis to Sport-Express.
"I have enough desire and energy to continue my career.
"I played 22 games for Krylya Sovetov last year. I feel no tiredness and I think I did well.
"I was not sure that Krylya would offer me a new contract so I asked my agent to look for a new club.
"I have some offers already, although I would not like to name the clubs.
"Anyway, I am sure I will find a new team very soon. I have no doubts.
"I have a couple of offers from abroad but, to be honest, I would prefer to play for a Russian club."
The Ukrainian winger also represented the likes of Everton, Rangers, Manchester City and Southampton.
