Defoe smashes a shot from range just over as he hunts a hat-trick following more nice build-up play.

England have found their mojo again as they stepover and backheel their way forward. Can you do this at tournaments please?

Cole and Barry play their way out of trouble and now Rooney with a super ball to Milner, what a pass and he's in to slide it across to Johnson, Defoe cuts in and Johnson has space but the City man curls it wide! That would have been one heck of a goal. Fabio's still angry though.

Bulgaria just about clear England's corner but the home side have it back in defence and build from the back patiently.

Cole fizzes a cross in which Ivanov clears, Milner almost meets the loose ball but cleared again. Rooney sells Adam Johnson short but Glen Johnson is there to clear and win a throw.
