Celtic 0-2 Braga result - Dismay for Bhoys as late Gabri Martinez goal assures visitors of win, after Kelechi Iheanacho effort disallowed

Stiliyan Petrov: "Really disappointing, [a] really poor performance. The team looks disconnected. There's no belief in the team. I used to be able to watch Celtic with urgency, good creative play, creating chances, taking risks.

"Nothing like that tonight. Players are playing without confidence. There's not a leader, used to be Callum McGregor who now we see is getting in the same mood as the team.

"The performances have been really unimpressive. I think Braga has managed the moments at the right time very well."

Alan Hutton: "We're used to seeing Celtic move the ball really quickly, with pace and intensity, there wasn't any of that. They just seem like they're missing something. This season is totally different. They're really searching for that spark."

Kenny McLean: "Urgency, that was the biggest thing for me. Everything was so laboured. Even at two down, five minutes to go and you're going to get time added on, you've got 10 minutes, go and show a bit of urgency.

"There was just nothing. That was the disappointing thing, just didn't put them under enough pressure."

Celtic were poor in defeat to Braga at home in the Europa League, but will rue the strange VAR decision to disallow Kelechi Iheanacho's apparent equaliser.

The former Leicester striker rode a challenge from Vitor Carvalho on the edge of the Braga box before slotting home but, though replays were far from conclusive, it was adjudged the ball hit his arm following the tackle.

Braga took the lead with an audacious, dipping Ricardo Horta shot from 30 yards out, though Kasper Schmeichel will feel he should have done much better in his attempt to stop the shot.

As well as Iheanacho's efforts, in the second half Kieran Tierney and Sebastian Tounekti forced fine saves by Lukas Hornicek in the Braga goal, but over the pattern of 90 minutes' play it is hard to begrudge the visitors' victory.

Their win was sealed when Gabri Martinez netted at the second attempt from close range, after fellow substitute Diego Rodrigues' shot was blocked by Schmeichel, and they now have six points from two matches, while Celtic have a solitary point.

[They have] just got to dig in and look for baby steps," former Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart said on TNT Sports.

"Just got to restart. All the success the club's had recently. Look at last season, dominating the league, tied up the League Cup early on, and went so well in the Champions League.

"Everything looked well and then it's all leaked from the Scottish Cup final. Defeat to Aberdeen on penalties, having dominated the game but no real threat.

"Then the summer transfer window they had ... the discontent. It can change so quickly, but you can change it the other way. It's baby steps, establish yourself against Motherwell, that's a big big game."

The unhappiness around the East End of Glasgow has only been added to. Boos are heard at the final whistle, and they would have been much louder if most fans had not left long before then.

But Hornicek pushes it away to safety.

This is something the Celtic fans will find particularly had to swallow.

Little enthusiasm in the stadium when seeing this long extension to the game - mostly due to the delay before Iheanacho's 'goal' was disallowed.

It is a rare sight to see so many leaving Parkhead well ahead of full time.

Substitute Martinez scores at the second attempt after Rodrigues' shot is saved by Schmeichel. Scales blocks Martinez's first shot and then Saracchi's attempted clearance is blocked by the striker and the ball ricochets in.

"Let's see if VAR can work up some magic for Celtic like they did for Braga earlier.

"They beat the press, good save, a good block, but so disappointing here.

"When it's not going your way, it's not going your way. Great moment for Martinez scoring at Celtic Park, going to feel like it's job done."

Braga smartly taking the sting out of the game with substitutions. That is all their five made now.

The Celtic sub is reprimanded for a foul.

But he could not steer his header on target.

Tounekti beats three men coming in from the left flank and then fires an effort heading for the top corner but Hornicek stretches and pushes away with his left hand.

He was worried when it bounced up off his thigh, but fortunately for him it went straight into Hornicek's arms.

Pau Victor leaves the field.

Goalscorer Horta is replaced. He comes off for Zalazae.

Engels replaces Bernardo.

He has played very well Grillitsch, but Moutinho a pretty good replacement.
