Rangers 0-0 Athletic Club: UEFA Europa League result as Liam Kelly penalty save earns 10-man Rangers crucial draw

Bilbao arrive in Scotland having gone five games without defeat, while their 0-0 draw against Villarreal at the weekend was also a third successive clean sheet. They will be a tough nut to crack for their hosts.

It's been far from plain sailing for Barry Ferguson since taking interim charge of Rangers in February.

In fact, the 2-0 defeat to Hibs at the weekend means his side head into this game having lost five successive fixtures at Ibrox.

They will be desperate to end that run tonight.

"I'M SURE HE'LL BOUNCE BACK"

John Souttar is suspended for Rangers tonight, but he's just spoken to the TNT Sports team ahead of kick off. He's been talking about the goalkeeping situation and Butland being left out.

"He's not really had this at Rangers. Last year he was in the team the whole time and he was player of the season.

"Everyone's been through it in their career. He's an experienced guy and I'm sure he'll bounce back.

"I think everyone is delighted for Kelly as well. He's come in and he's not really featured at all, apart from the five or six games in January, when he came in and did really well.

"Everybody's got full confidence in him as well."

Fair play to you if you can recall the only previous meetings between these two sides.

They came way back in 1969 in the Fairs Cup. Rangers progressed to the semi-finals after winning 4-3 on aggregate, thanks to a 4-1 success in Glasgow, before losing the return leg 2-0.
