Andre Onana double save against Fenerbahce 'better' than David Raya's at Atalanta, says Robbie Savage

TNT Sports co-commentator Robbie Savage labelled Andre Onana's double save against Fenerbahce as "better" than David Raya's against Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League. The Cameroonian goalkeeper spectacularly denied Youssef En-Nesyri twice in a matter of seconds as the Turkish side threatened an equaliser against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League.

'Jose can't believe it' - Onana's sensational double save 'better' than Raya's, says Savage

Andre Onana pulled off a blinding double save during Manchester United’s UEFA Europa League clash with Fenerbahce.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper denied Youssef En-Nesyri twice in the space of mere seconds from what would have been the equaliser after Christian Eriksen had put United in front after a flowing move.
With 36 minutes on the clock, Onana came to his side’s rescue to deny the home side an equaliser, and he was swamped by his colleagues congratulating him when he bounced up off the turf.
Fenerbahce manager and former United head coach Jose Mourinho had his hands on his head in disbelief, as he thought that his side were level.
TNT Sports’ Robbie Savage compared Onana’s heroics to David Raya’s breathtaking double stop at Atalanta, when Arsenal drew 0-0 in Bergamo.
Raya kept out Mateo Retegui’s penalty, before leaping across his goalline to deny the Italian from tapping in the rebound.
“Wow. We saw a double save in the Champions League from David Raya, but Onana here, I think that’s better,” Savage said in the TNT Sports gantry.
“The reactions there. [The first] one is brilliant, but to get up and at short notice, that’s a brilliant save. Jose can’t believe it.
"What a double save."
Onana's efforts would go in vain, however, as En-Nesyri exacted his revenge on the shot-stopper to notch Fener's equaliser and snatch a point for Jose Mourinho's side.
The Manchester United goalkeeper was frustrated with more points dropped for his side, who are still winless in their UEFA Europa League campaign.

“It is a big disappointment for me and the fans, for the club, as a Manchester United player you have an obligation to try to win," Onana told TNT Sports afterwards.
"It is what we tried to do today, but we also have to recognise it is a tough place to win.
"We didn’t win, but at least we didn’t lose, Not happy of course, but we move on, take responsibility and go again.
“We had more control than them in the second half and more chances. We conceded an early goal in the second half, we had to show character and I think that is what we did. We didn’t win but I thought we were better than them.
The Cameroonian was dismissive of his double save in the first half, emphasising that his primary focus was on getting three points for his side.
"The saves are not important," he insisted.
"The most important thing is the victory for the team. It is nice if I make those kinds of saves and the team wins. It is a big disappointment.”
