Arsenal v Sporting LIVE: A place in the Europa League final eight goes on the line after a sparkling 2-2 draw back in Lisbon

Last time the Lisbon side were in the Europa League - back in 2018 - they lost at the Emirates 1-0. That saw them lose out on top spot in the group, eventually going out in the next round against Villarreal.

Victory tonight would see the Gunners advance to the Europa League quarter-finals for the fourth time in five years.

Only back in 2020 did they drop out earlier, losing in the round of 32 to Olympiacos.

Arsenal warmed up for tonight's match with a 3-0 dismantling of Fulham. The Gunners were cruising by half-time and saw out the victory with ease.

Sporting had an identical result, winning 3-0 against Porto based team Boavista on Sunday.

Arsenal took the lead in Lisbon only to fall behind 2-1 and eventually level things and hold on for a draw.

Arsenal's star summer signing has missed much of their successful season through injury but he's back now and ready to make up for lost time.
