A rather ominious statistic for Newcastle is that Benfica have only lost by two clear goals on one occasion this season. The team that beat them on that occasion? Barcelona.

If Newcastle are to make a go of this I suspect Cisse will have to be sharp. Other than Sissoko, not quite sure what attacking threat wil come from midfield.

Newcastle got off to the best possible start in Lisbon a week ago, Cisse putting them 1-0 up after an incisive pass up the wing from Danny Simpson. Alan Pardew's side could do with a similar start tonight!
