SWEDEN 4-1 GERMANY - SWEDEN TOP GROUP WITH BRILLIANT TEAM PERFORMANCE
Sweden topped Group C at Euro 2025 with an impressive 4-1 win over Germany, who had a player sent off.
Germany went ahead after just seven minutes when Jule Brand finished off an excellent team move, but their joy was short-lived.
Stina Blackstenius levelled five minutes later, and then Smilla Holmberg scored on 25 minutes when an attempted clearance struck her leg and looped over Ann-Katrin Berger.
Carlotta Wamser was then sent off on 32 minutes for blocking a shot on the line with her hand, and Fridolina Rolfo - winning her 100th cap - converted from the spot.
In the second half, both sides appeared content to let the game drift to an end, before Lina Hurtig added a late fourth.
Both teams will now wait to discover their opponents in the next round, as they were assured of qualifying before the match began.

FULL TIME - SWEDEN 4-1 GERMANY
The biggest ever defeat for Germany at a European Championship.
Sweden were calm, unfettered, and demonstrably better on the pitch from the moment they equalised.
They look ominous. Germany look in need of some inspiration.
90'
TWO MINUTES LEFT
Very little of the game left to play now. A crazy goalmouth scramble ends when Falk beats away a shot, but it would not have been allowed, due to an earlier offside.
85'
CERCI GOES CLOSE
She loops a volley over the keeper with a deft touch of the outside of her right foot, but it strikes the side netting.
Cerci had done well to reach a ball over the top, but to no avail.

ANOTHER SUB
The game is winding down now.

GOAL! SWEDEN 4-1 GERMANY - HURTIG SCORES
It's four. The substitute gets her name on the scoreboard. A cross to the back post is played back across the six-yard box for Hurtig, and she lazily strokes home.

CERCI ON FOR NUSKEN
A sub for Germany, but with 16 minutes left it seems like a gambit to protect Nusken's fitness more than anything about ambitions for the game now.

CHANCE FOR SWEDEN
Berger, once again off her line, appears to catch the eye of Wangerheim as she attacks down the right.
It might be a cross, it might be a shot, but it does appear as if the Swedish player looked to loft a ball over the keeper. It goes wide, but Berger has not been a reassuring presence tonight.
71'
BLACKSTENIUS OFF
The striker is getting a rest after doing the necessary earlier.
Sweden will clearly not turn down chances to add to the scoreline, but that's not their priority at this stage.

BLACKSTENIUS WINS A CORNER
Her header at the near post is blocked, and it goes behind for a set piece.
Andersson takes, it reaches Angeldahl, but she connects poorly and her volley loops high and wide.
Here's a picture of the emotion getting to Wamser earlier.

HOFFMAN ON FOR SCHULLER
Perhaps a suggestion that Germany are now also willing to contain the damage and get to the end of the game without too much more exertion.

SWEDEN DOMINATE POSSESSION
An hour now gone, it appears the Swedish side are content to manage the game from here. Given Germany need to win to alter their position in the table, they don't appear too keen to battle to the death either. It doesn't really make sense to go too hard with the knockouts still to come.

ASLLANI SUBBED OFF
Hurtig comes on in her place to see out the rest of the match. Sweden have the chance to rest some key players, and give experience and match fitness to others.

NUSKEN DOWN
Taking a tumble in the box as the corner was cleared, she appears to have hurt her hand, and she needs some treatment.

CORNER FOR GERMANY
Some scrappning before the delivery comes in, which gets an intervention from the ref. In the end, the ball comes in and Sweden hoof it clear.

GERMANY'S UNBEATEN STREAK
They can point to eight games undefeated. That streak appears almost certain to come to an end now.
