Spain are ready to embark on their fifth European Championship final when they take on England in Berlin this Sunday. La Roja are three-time winners of this competition, and famously won back-to-back editions of the tournament in 2008 and 2012 respectively. Luis de la Fuente's side will secure a record-breaking fourth European title if they manage to overcome The Three Lions at the Olympiastadion.

Spain are aiming to complete the latest chapter in their love story with the European Championship, as they prepare to face England in Berlin.
La Roja have arguably been the 2024 edition's most impressive team, showcasing some brilliant attacking football and dumping out a series of European heavyweights en route to the final.
After emerging from the group stage as the only team with a 100 per cent record, La Roja defeated Georgia in the round of 16 before dumping out Germany and France in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively.
Gareth Southgate’s resilient Three Lions side stand in their way of an historic triumph in the German capital, but Luis de la Fuente’s side can take heart from a largely positive record in tournament finals over the years.
So, how many finals have Spain been in, and how many have they won?

Spain’s men’s team have appeared in a total of eight tournament finals throughout their history, with six of those coming in the last 16 years.
La Roja’s first major tournament success came back in the 1964 European Championship, as goals from Chus Pereda and Marcelino sealed a 2-1 win over the Soviet Union.
They would have to wait another 20 years to appear in another final. It would come in the same competition, but Spain would be on the losing side to France.
Michel Platini and Bruno Bellone were on the scoresheet to give Les Bleus their first European title.
After a largely barren period for the remainder of the 1980s, 1990s and first half of the noughties, a star-studded Spain team won Euro 2008 with a 1-0 win over Germany, coming courtesy of a goal by Fernando Torres.

A landmark first World Cup triumph came two years later at the finals in South Africa, as Andres Iniesta’s extra-time winner ensured Spain edged a cagey final with a 1-0 extra-time victory in Johannesburg.
This incredible Spain squad completed a trio of major tournament successes at Euro 2012, dispatching Italy with a 4-0 thrashing in Kyiv.
Goals from David Silva, Jordi Alba, Torres and Juan Mata sealed a resounding win and a record-equalling third European title.
A year later, and Spain would head to Brazil for the Confederations Cup - essentially viewed as a warm-up tournament for the World Cup the following year.
La Roja were soundly beaten 3-0 by the hosts at the Maracana, with a brace from Fred and a goal for Neymar proving to be the difference.
