FT: REPUBLIC OF IRELAND 0-0 FRANCE
France hold on - it was not pretty and it was not them at their best but it is job done.
They have moments of magic to thank - Pavard's goal that kissed the crossbar on the way in was superb. And Maignan's two saves late on were incredible.
France take home three points but Ireland should gain much confidence from the performance.

We are nearing the end of the game and Ireland continue to be roared on by their home fans.
At what point to they push forward more and look for the draw. They remain compact in their shape.

GAPS APPEARING
Ireland are beginning to come out of their shape more often as they look for an equaliser.
There is a sign that a few in green are starting to tire after working so hard tonight.
France will look to exploit any space left to them late in the game.

WATCH OUT
Sometimes it's nearly impossible to stop Mbappe and it can feel like you need an extra defender.
Well, Ireland have one perhaps. The referee has just got in the way of the superstar and slowed him down and Ireland have tackled him!

GREAT DEFENDING
Ireland break quickly. Ogbene rules Upamecano and he picks out Knight, who sees his shot blocked by Griezmann.
A ball is then nearly there for Ferguson in on goal, yet Maignan is out quickly to get to it first.
