Slovenia
Srečko Katanec (Slovenia coach): "I have watched all Ukraine's qualifying matches. They conceded only four goals, that is amazing. Ukraine have a technically sophisticated and robust team. Their wingers are great, their only problems are in defence and maybe in picking up bookings."

Ukraine
Mykhaylo Fomenko (Ukraine coach): "There's not much to be cheerful about. Ukraine lost all their previous finals play-offs, but that is history now. We are living for today and focusing on the future."

Slovenia
Slovenia were too reliant on striker Milivoje Novakovic for goals in their quest for qualification, the 36-year-old struck six times, and the pressure is on his shoulders to come up with the goods over the two legs against Ukraine.

Ukraine
Ukraine conceded just four goals all campaign but failed to win their most important matches, losing twice to Spain and losing and drawing against Slovakia. Their star man, Andriy Yarmolenko, scored four goals and he is key to their hopes to qualification.

Slovenia
Slovenia, coached by Srekco Katanec, are on a three-match unbeaten run and finished third in Group E behind England and Switzerland. They’re a tempting 6/1 at some bookmakers.

Ukraine
Ukraine, who finished a disappointing third in Group C, have lost in four World Cup qualifying play-offs, and lost in the Euro 2000 play-offs to none other than Slovenia. To make matters worse, they have never beaten Slovenia in four attempts but the bookies believe they will this evening - they're as short as 4/7 at some bookmakers.
