Given gives the ball to Coleman, who is bundled off the ball by the hard-working Lewandowski. Coleman and Given exchange words, with the Everton full back unhappy that he was given the ball.

Lewandowski feeds Milik at speed and O'Shea gets a yellow card for a block on the Bayern Munich striker.

O'Shea steps out and finds Coleman. Poland have a very good two banks of four when Ireland have the ball, though, and the attack comes to nothing.

Smoke still fills the stadium. O'Shea flicks the ball over Lewandowski then Ireland win a throw midway into the Poland half.

The Poland fans start singing again. They are in fine voice - the Ireland fans respond with a chorus of their own.

O'Shea clambers over Lewandowski, and Poland have a free kick 40 yards from goal.

Brady's set-piece is poor and cleared at the near post. Ireland win the second ball, then concede a goal kick, to the anger and consternation of Keane, who felt the cross got a nick off Lukasz Szukala.

Brady takes on Peszko and that is the first corner of the match, for Ireland. A huge roar from the home fans greets that.

Coleman cuts inside but Ireland cede possession and Poland hoof the ball down the pitch, into the hands of Shay Given.
