So many Real Madrid players have struggled early on this season an he doesn't look to be very comfortable playing in this role behind Benzema as the central striker this evening.

Just a scare! Ceballos is now back up on his feet and looks to be running off a twisted knee. It doesn't look to be a serious injury for the Spanish international. He'll continue.

Ceballos injury? Uh oh. This might be bad news for the Real Madrid midfielder. He appeared to catch his knee in the stodgy turf and is now on the floor about to receive some treatment.

Odriozola was kept on the bench against Barcelona at the weekend and the youngster is showing why he should have played with this performance in this game so far. Very impressive.

You have to say that Real Madrid deserve to be ahead. Melilla started well and were pressing high on the European champions, but the away side have taken a grip in the past 15 minutes.

It was Odriozola who put on the assist and Benzema who grabbed the goal, but the move that led to the opener was sparked by Vazquez, whose turn in the centre of the pitch opened up all kinds of space.

Odriozola made it to the byline and then squared a pass for Benzema to finish into the empty net from about two yards out! That all looked very easy for the visitors.

It's a mark of the respect that the Real Madrid senior players, like Benzema, have for Vinicius that they keep looking for the Brazilian teenager. He has been heavily involved.

Real Madrid have taken a firm grip of this game in the last few minutes. Their quality is starting to shine through and they are pressing for the goal to break the deadlock.

Melilla will need a few more saves of that quality from Barrio if they are to get a result against Real Madrid this evening. That's the only time the visitors have threatened, though.

What a save! Vazquez opens up his body just inside the Melilla penalty area, getting the looping shot away on goal, but Barrio does so well to tip the effort over the bar! It might have picked up a deflection too.

Benzema shot blocked! Good pressing from Vinicius and Lucas gives Real Madrid the ball inside the opposition box, but Benzema's shot is blocked by one of the Melilla defenders.

Benzema is a player lacking confidence at the moment. The Frenchman started the season in form, but has struggled to find the net in recent outings. A goal here would help.

Navas has been favoured in goals for this game. That could be down to Solari giving the Costa Rican the cup games and Courtois the league games, but Courtois has struggled since joining in the summer.

It's a miserable night just off the coast of Morocco for this game. That is making it difficult for the players to control things on the pitch. The ball is just skidding around everywhere on the turf.

Melilla are being pretty impressive in their performance early on here. They are not allowing Real Madrid to settle and that is contributing to a scrappy match in the opening 15 minutes.
