That result probably renders the second leg, to be played at the Bernabeu next week, as irrelevant. Real Madrid have a 3-0 lead and they didn't even need to play the likes of Ronaldo. Zidane will be pleased with how his side approached that match. They held Numancia at arm's length and took their chances.

It's worth keeping in mind that Real Madrid haven't had Benzema and Ronaldo to call upon this evening. Although Real Madrid will be without Benzema for quite some time due to injury.

Llorente needs to do better in the centre of midfield. More than once, he has given the ball away cheaply, allowing the home side to drive forward on the rapid counter attack.

Real Madrid are rocking a little bit after that shot that came off the bar from Perez. Numancia are threatening an equaliser and now the away side are just looking to see this out.

OFF THE CROSSBAR! Wow! That was almost one of the goals of the season. Perez lobbed Casilla from the centre circle, but it coms back off the woodwork. What an effort that was!

Theo has played quite well for Real Madrid this evening. He gives Zidane another option at left back, which is important with Marcelo starting to get on a little bit. He provides depth.
