We had to wait until the second half for the real show but Messi is back! His second goal was quite magnificent, running half the pitch to finish in style. What a player! Good result for Barcelona as well, who now head into the clash with Atletico with confidence. I wonder what Diego Simeone thinks about Messi's return tonight.

GOAL! Barcelona 4 (94 mins - Lionel Messi) Getafe 0. He's back for sure! He picks up the ball on the halfway line and drives at the Getafe defence, surging into the box and finishing high into the net. Superb!

Messi lines up a freekick from 25 yards and lashes it into the side netting with a heck amount of power! That might have been further than 25 yards actually. The Camp Nou thought it was in.

Three minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the second half.

GOAL! Barcelona 3 (90 mins - Lionel Messi) Getafe 0. The hero returns and he has a goal to show for it. He rolls the ball calmly into the back of the net from eight yards.

That looked like a sore one for the Getafe player, but thankfully Valera is back on this feet after taking a Messi freekick straight to the face.

Messi stands over a freekick 25 yards out from goal. The Camp Nou crowd builds up the expectation with drumming and cheering but in the end he plants his shot straight into the wall, taking out Valera who is now on the turf.

YELLOW CARD: Juan Rodriguez (Getafe).

Tito Vilanova is at the Camp Nou tonight. Great to see him at the stadium again. I'm sure he's enjoyed this performance and in particular the return of Messi from injury.

YELLOW CARD: Martin Montoya (Barcelona).

On the other hand, if Getafe can find a late goal they could give themselves real hope in the second leg. Next goal means everything for the return game.

Can Barcelona find the third goal to kill off this tie? They could certainly do with the second leg being a virtual dead rubber, given the fixture pile-up at this time of year.

Pedro comes so close to finding the net! Messi beats two players as he drives into the box before staging a floated cross to the back post but Pedro can't quite jump high enough to head it home.

One former Arsenal midfielder comes off for another former Arsenal midfielder. Song has actually made a bit of an impact under Martino this season, playing more and more games in the middle of midfield.

Looks like Barcelona are preparing to make their final change of the game.

Messi has taken up a position on the right side of the Barcelona front three. Is that where he will play against Atletico Madrid on Saturday? Is Martino preparing for that?

With that change Getafe have taken off a striker for a striker, so at least they're still keeping an attacking outlet on the pitch. They're still in this tie. One goal completely changes the feel of the second leg.
