DOUE AND DEMBELE SECURE NINE-MAN PSG'S PASSAGE INTO CLUB WORLD CUP SEMIS
Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals, despite being reduced to nine men during their 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich.
Second-half goals from Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele settled the contest in favour of Luis Enrique's side, who had Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez sent off later on.
Bayern's quest for a third Club World Cup title ended and their misery was compounded when Jamal Musiala suffered an horrific injury during the first half in Atlanta.
Chances had not fallen too freely during that opening period, though Dayot Upamecano saw a free header ruled out for offside.
Manuel Neuer came to Bayern's rescue at the other end, with a smart reflex save denying Bradley Barcola early in the second half.
The breakthrough finally arrived for PSG in the 78th minute. Joao Neves played a one-two with Achraf Hakimi before teeing up Doue, who drilled a 20-yard strike beyond a flat-footed Neuer.
However, the UEFA Champions League winners were reduced to 10 men shortly afterwards when Pacho was shown a straight red card for a high challenge on Leon Goretzka.
Harry Kane's header was disallowed for offside before Hernandez was also given his marching orders when he caught Raphael Guerreiro with a trailing elbow.
Nevertheless, PSG stood firm and sealed the victory in the fifth minute of stoppage time as Dembele, who rattled the crossbar moments earlier, swept a superb first-time finish beyond Neuer.

PSG HALT BAYERN JINX TO SEAL SEMI-FINAL SPOT
Paris Saint-Germain had lost each of their last four meetings with Bayern, including their showdown in the 2024-25 Champions League.
It was a heavyweight clash between two of the world's top teams, which genuinely could have gone either way.
Despite Doue drilling them in front, PSG were hanging on a little after Pacho and substitute Hernandez received red cards in quick succession.
Yet Bayern, who saw two goals ruled out for offside, could not capitalise on their numerical advantage, and were punished when Dembele wrapped up victory with one of the last kicks of the game.
Luis Enrique's side march onto the semi-finals, where either Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund await.

NO PENALTY
After referring to his pitchside monitor, the referee deems Nuno Mendes kicked the ball against Muller's head.
He subsequently overturns his initial decision, with no penalty awarded.
That will surely be it now...

PENALTY
A lifeline for Bayern, perhaps!
They launch one of their last pushes in the contest.
As Muller heads the ball towards goal, he is caught by a high boot from Nuno Mendes.
The referee eventually points to the spot.
But wait! VAR wants a look...

GOAL!!! PSG 2-0 BAYERN MUNICH (DEMBELE)
Game, set and match: Paris Saint-Germain!
Dembele is very unlucky to see a rasping drive crash against the crossbar.
However, PSG maintain the pressure and Hakimi does brilliantly to jink away from several challenges.
He then tees up Dembele, who sweeps a first-time effort beyond a helpless Neuer.

JUST OVER
Desperate to capitalise on their numerical advantage, Bayern go in search of that equaliser.
Olise's corner is met by Goretzka at the near post, but he cannot keep his header down.

RED CARD
PSG are down to nine men!
Lucas Hernandez, only introduced as a substitute a few minutes ago, is given his marching orders.
The full-back catches Guerreiro with his trailing elbow and it is spotted by the referee, who quickly brandishes the red card in his direction.
PSG are far from happy, but they must increase their concentration levels even more now.

STOPPAGE TIME
There will be six additional minutes at the end of this game.
Can Bayern find an equaliser to force extra-time?

THE FINAL ACT?
Muller knows every appearance could be his last for Bayern, with the veteran set to depart the club after this tournament.
The forward is representing his club for the 756th time, and he will hope it is not the last.

SUBSTITUTION
Another change by Kompany with Guerreiro introduced in place of Boey.

NO GOAL
Bayern think they have equalised as Kane nods in from Upamecano's cross.
However, the joy is cut short by the offside flag.

PSG CHANGE
Luis Enrique turns straight to the bench, sacrificing Kvaratskhelia in favour of Beraldo.
He will fill the hole left following Pacho's red card.

RED CARD
PSG are down to 10 men!
Pacho catches Goretzka late with his studs up.
The referee takes a moment to weigh up the challenge, before giving the defender his marching orders.
Suddenly, things are not looking all that comfortable for the Champions League winners.

DOUBLE CHANGES ACROSS THE BOARD
Both sides make two substitutions following the goal.
That was Doue's last action as he as Ruiz are replaced by Lucas Hernanez and Zaire-Emery.
There is also activity on the Bayern bench, with Goretzka and Muller coming on for Coman and Pavlovic.
