JOAO PEDRO MAKES DREAM CHELSEA START AS CHELSEA BOOK PLACE IN CLUB WORLD CUP FINAL
Joao Pedro’s perfect introduction saw him help his new side Chelsea into the final of the FIFA Club World Cup with both goals in their 2-0 win over Fluminense.
Chelsea took the lead after 18 minutes as Thiago Silva’s clearance of Pedro Neto’s cross landed at the feet of Pedro, who curled a superb effort beyond Fluminense goalkeeper Fabio and into the top corner.
The Blues nearly doubled their lead almost immediately when Malo Gusto saw his header saved by the veteran goalkeeper, before they were given a scare when Marc Cucurella tracked back to make a heroic goal-line clearance to deny Hercules, who left Robert Sanchez glued to the spot.
As the Brazilian side hunted down an equaliser, they were given a massive opening when referee Francois Letexier pointed to the spot after a low free-kick into the box touched the arm of Trevoh Chalobah.
A VAR recommendation saw the referee overturn his original decision however, ruling Chalobah’s arm was in a "neutral position" and the incident was "unpunishable".
Pedro further endeared himself to his new fanbase with another brilliant goal against his former club to secure Chelsea’s place in the final, as he sprung onto Enzo Fernandez’s ball to catch Fluminense on the break, smashing his effort off the crossbar and into the net.
There were some more chances for Chelsea towards the end, but Enzo Mareca's men had done plenty enough for victory.
Chelsea will play either Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid in Sunday's final, with those two European heavyweights meeting on Wednesday, July 9 at 20:00 UK time.

JOAO PEDRO: IT WAS A DREAM START
"It was a dream first start," the Chelsea goalscorer told DAZN. "I don't think it could have been better, two goals, now we need to think about the final.
"I'm happy to score my first goal but I know this tournament is very important to them so I can just say sorry, but I have to be professional, I play for Chelsea, they pay me to score goals and today, I was able to score.
"He just said to me to play the same way I played in the last game and because today I had more time to do my stuff, I was happy to score, the team won, the team played well and that was important.
"I think it would be my first trophy, it would be a very special game, I came one week ago and I'm going to play in the final."

A DREAM INTRODUCTION FOR JOAO PEDRO AS CHELSEA WORTHY WINNERS
They entered the game overwhelmingly favourites to reach the FIFA Club World Cup and a confident display by Enzo Maresca’s men would do just that.
Playing their third Brazilian side of the tournament, it was their own Brazilian star who would announce himself to the Chelsea faithful, with two stunning goals to ease the Blues past his former side Fluminense and set up a final against either Real Madrid or PSG.
As Chelsea continued to empty their wallets in hopes of finding their dream striker this summer, Pedro proved to his new team that his £60 price tag was worth every penny as he showed confidence in front of goal and blended with his new teammates remarkably in a matter of days, in what would be a well-rounded performance by the British side.
Will Joao Pedro be the answer for Chelsea when the Premier League starts back up? Time will tell, but this was a performance to get excited about.

LIMA FIRES OVER THE CROSSBAR
Will that be the final kick of the game?
90+7'
THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SOMETHING SPECIAL
Everaldo attempts an overhead kick and it truly would have been a spectacular ending to this game, but it's a little too high of the target.
90+6'
CONCERNS FOR CAICEDO
Moises Caicedo is recieving treatment after hurting himself in a challenge. It appears to be his ankle, which is causing him so discomfort.
There's a bit of concern but it does look like Caicedo is going to run it off, with Chelsea making all of their changes.
90+2'

SIX MINUTES ADDED TIME!
They would be worthy of a goal for their efforts but it doesn't look like it's going to happen for Fluminense as Robert Sanchez spills Agustin Canobbio's effort from range and Keno misses the target.
87'
DOUBLE CHANGE FOR CHELSEA
Kiernan Dewsbury Hall and Andrey Santos come on in place of Christopher Nkunku and Enzo Fernandez.
85'
FIVE MINUTES OF NORMAL TIME REMAINING
And Fluminense win a corner in front of their fans.
It's played short before a cross goes into the box from the left flank. Thiago Silva manages to get his head on the ball and direct it goalwards but hits his teammate Ignacio, who is flagged for handball in the box.
81'
JACKSON FINDS THE SIDE NETTING
Chelsea really want this third goal to put this game out of doubt, if it wasn't already.
Nicolas Jackson darts into the box but finds the side netting, much to the dismay of Cole Palmer, who had an open goal in front of him.
78'
COOLING BREAK TIME
One last rallying call for Fluminense players as we edge closer to the final ten minutes.
75'
JUST ONE TOUCH NEEDED
He needed to make sure his headed clearance was inch-perfect and Thiago Silva ensures it is, as he manages to get a header on Cucurella's dangerous cross into the box to keep it out of the path of an arriving Madueke.
74'
YELLOW CARD FOR CHELSEA
Robert Sanchez is booked for time wasting.
72'
HE DIDN'T WASTE ANY TIME
There's no waste in introducing himself as subsitute Lima sees his shot from outside of the box fly over the bar.
70'
DOUBLE CHANGE FOR FLUMINENSE
Hercules and Facundo Bernal are the next players to depart the field of play, whilst Vinicius Lima and Agustin Canobbio are brought on.
68'
SO CLOSE FROM GUSTO
That was ever so close to being a third for Chelsea as he sees his effort go narrowly wide of the right post.
And that will be the end of his game as he's replaced by Reece James, whilst Pedro Neto is replaced by Noni Madueke.
67'
ANOTHER CHANGE FOR FLUMINENSE
Yeferson Soteldo replaces Nonato.
66'
HOW DID THAT NOT GO IN?
Thiago Silva would be the reason.
Nkunku goes again and it's heading goalwards as he cuts back and unleashes a shot but a sliding block by the former Chelsea veteran manages to keep it out.
64'
NKUNKU'S EFFORT IS DEFLECTED
Nkunku wants a goal for himself and takes aim from distance, but his effort is headed out for a corner.
