How does the UEFA Champions League league phase draw work?
The draw will feature 27 teams that qualified courtesy of last season’s league positions, as well as the winner of the last Champions League and UEFA Europa League. It will also include the seven teams that progressed from qualifying.

Starting from pot one, each team will be drawn out individually and then be selected eight opponents by automated UEFA software.
