BARCELONA BACK TO WINNING WAYS IN CONTROVERSIAL STYLE
On a chaotic night in Catalonia, the most straightforward thing was the outcome - Barcelona were once again shaky at the back but rampant up front and ran out 6-1 winners thanks to hat-trick by Fermin Lopez and two Marcus Rashford goals.
However, that was only half the story, as three contentious decisions in just 20 minutes swung the game. First, Olympiacos had a goal disallowed so they could be given a penalty when a cross struck Eric Garcia’s arm, with the ball bouncing to Daniel Podence who’d been stood in an offside decision and then set up Ayoub El Kaabi’s headed finish.
The Moroccan scored the spot-kick from the post but there was no coming back from referee Urs Schnyder’s next intervention - showing a second yellow to Santiago Hezze for contact with Marc Casado’s head that TNT Sports’ Adam Virgo described as "like a feather" before Lamine Yamal converted a penalty for a foul on Rashford that put the game to bed.
In the first half, Lopez had produced two fantastic finishes to put Barcelona in control and he smashed home his third after Yamal’s penalty to become the first Spanish player to net a UEFA Champions League hat-trick.
Meanwhile Rashford continued to look revitalised in red and blue. He scored Barcelona’s fourth and sixth goals, the final strike a brilliant effort from outside the penalty area that rivalled his stunner against Newcastle.

FULL-TIME: BARCELONA 6-1 OLYMPIACOS
Where do we start with that one then? Fermin Lopez takes home the match ball as the first Spanish player to score a hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League and Marcus Rashford bagged a late brace but referee Urs Schnyder and his colleagues may well have been the most influential figures tonight.

RINGING THE CHANGES
In amongst Barcelona scoring three goals in five minutes, both sides have shaken things up with the contest over.
Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde have been withdrawn by Hansi Flick with Bardghji, Marc Bernal, Gerard Martin and Ronald Araujo trotting in their place.
And Roman Yaremchuk, Bruno Onyemaechi and Mehdi Taremi are on for Olympiacos for El Kaabi, Podence and Ortega.

ANOTHER PENALTY?
And Rashford is involved yet again! He chases a ball from deep and cuts across Pirola, who does tangle with the England international before he tumbles over.
That was probably a more legitimate call than the one that was given, but a small slice of cosmic justice is handed out as the check is cleared.

GOAL!!!!!! BARCELONA 6-1 OLYMPIACOS (RASHFORD)
"Finishing of the highest quality" says Adam Virgo on TNT Sports and he's right. Rashford takes down a lofted ball from deep, switches it onto his right foot and then rifles his shot into the bottom corner from outside the penalty area.
It's not quite as good as his second against Newcastle, but it's not far off...

GOAL!!!!! BARCELONA 5-1 OLYMPIACOS (LOPEZ)
Barcelona are running ragged! Roony Bardghji had been on the field a matter of second but with Olympiacos quickly tiring, he drives to the byline, cuts the ball back to the centre of the penalty area and Lopez hammers the half-volley into the corner.

GOAL!!!!! BARCELONA 4-1 OLYMPIACOS (RASHFORD)
It didn't stay quiet for long! Balde chases down a ball at the back post and knocks it back to Rashford, who produces an effortlessly confident finish, taking a moment to recalibrate his sights before placing the ball past Retsos and Tzolakis to score!

AND BREATHE
Yamal's finally come to the party after getting on the scoresheet, he jinks through the Olympiacos defense but this time the shot is blocked.
After one of the wildest 20 minutes the UEFA Champions League has ever seen, we could all use some calm!

GOAL!!!! BARCELONA 3-1 OLYMPIACOS (YAMAL)
To add insult to injury, Yamal nonchalantly slides the ball into the middle of the goal from the penalty spot. Lopez sacrificed his hat-trick for that, too.

PENALTY GIVEN
Mendilibar can't believe it, Tzolakis can't believe it but as soon as the referee is called to the monitor there was no way this wasn't being given as a penalty.
Rashford was looking for contact and there's an argument that he knees the goalkeeper in the face but it's yet more refereeing controversy.

PENALTY?
This could set the Olympiacos fans off even more. Rashford bursts through and takes a heavy touch as Tzolakis rushes out.
There's no way Rashford is catching the ball before it runs out of play but he makes contact with the goalkeeper who dived and missed the ball.

"CATCHES HIM LIKE A FEATHER"
TNT Sports' Adam Virgo was speechless when first watching the replay, then summed up the controversy perfectly:
"I've said throughout this whole game that the referee has just given such soft yellow cards for fouls that should just be free kicks and then you get on with it.
"He [Hezze] catches him [Casado] like a feather landing on your head and he's gone down like he's just taken a right hook from Tyson Fury."
Even more controversailly, Podence was booked in the aftermath of the goal but Garcia escaped a card for the penalty incident.

HEZZE OFF
CAN THIS GAME GET ANY MORE DRAMATIC??? The Argentine picked up a very harsh yellow card earlier when Pedri ran into him, but this one is even softer.
Battling Marc Casado for a bouncing ball, Hezze is held by his opponent and Casado then throws himself to the floor after the most minimal contact, with Hezze just looking to free himself.
Jose Luis Montilibar can't believe it.

GOAL!!! BARCELONA 2-1 OLYMPIACOS (EL KAABI)
That could've been very controversial! El Kaabi's shot bounces off Szczesny's left arm, onto the post, but then into the back of the net.

GOAL DISALLOWED! PENALTY FOR OLYMPIACOS
Well that's a new one! The cross hits Garcia's arm, it's fairly clear cut, and it transpires that Podence was offside so the El Kaabi goal shouldn't have stood.
Instead, he'll get his chance from 12 yards instead.

VAR CHECK
This is bizarre, VAR is checking for a potential penalty for a handball on Garcia, despite Olympiacos scoring directly afterwards.
They can't rule out an Olympiacos goal for a Barcelona foul, can they?
