Luis Enrique sees 'spirit of supporters' playing key role as Paris Saint-Germain eye another UEFA Champions League win over 'great' Arsenal

Luis Enrique is not underestimating the importance of the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg being at home for Paris Saint-Germain, who take a 1-0 lead into the match at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday against Arsenal. He is hoping the fans will play a part in what could be a famous night of football, as PSG try to go one better than they managed last season and make the final.

PSG will 'feel the spirit of our supporters' in crunch game with Arsenal - Enrique

Paris Saint-Germain hold a slender one-goal advantage over Arsenal heading into the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final.
They host The Gunners at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
Luis Enrique’s side managed to find a way to win a very close match at Emirates Stadium, courtesy of an early goal from talisman Ousmane Dembele.
Dembele is fit to start in Paris, something that will give heart to the PSG supporters as they hope to watch their side make the final for the first time since 2020.
But Enrique knows his side are up against a tough Arsenal team and they will not be taking anything for granted, given The Gunners have already gone to Real Madrid and won away from home in this competition.
"I [have] the same feeling that I had before the match, that they were a great team, they are a great team," Enrique told TNT Sports.
"It was so tight, it could go any side, but I think we competed very well and now it's the second leg, a match at home, which means we can feel the spirit of our supporters.
"We are happy, we are trying to win the second match again and it's going to be difficult, of course."
Dembele was a doubt for the second leg after suffering a hamstring strain in the first leg, but after sitting out PSG’s league defeat at the weekend, Enrique confirmed that he is good to go.
He is not the only one hungry to take to the pitch tomorrow night, though, with plenty of players keen to make a name for themselves in front of their home fans.
"When you play those kind of matches at that level, you feel, you smell clearly the happiness and they are looking forward to playing that match," Enrique added.
"It's so easy to train that week and everybody is connected and focused on the semi-final."
PSG know what it is like to get this close and miss out - last season falling in the semi-finals to Borussia Dortmund, who managed to come away from the Parc des Princes with a 1-0 victory.
But that was then, and this year’s PSG side look far more cohesive, as they try and knock out yet another English team, having already dispatched Liverpool and Aston Villa in the last two rounds.

Hakimi ‘cannot wait to start’

The players seem every bit as up for this one as the manager, with Achraf Hakimi making it clear that PSG are incredibly proud of the season they have put together.
"We feel pretty excited. We cannot wait to start the game tomorrow," he told TNT Sports.
"We feel like it's a game that [if we] play together and we win. In the way that we do, we take more confidence in us, in the team, and we feel stronger.

"So we also have to use it at home with our fans and our stadium. So that is a strong point for us also."
Taking that 1-0 lead into the match could prove crucial, with the pressure far more on Arsenal to chase the game.
Hakimi also pointed out that there is no element of surprise coming from Arsenal, given how many times PSG have played against English clubs this season.
"It doesn't matter against who we play, we want to win, we want to go forward. That's what we have in our mind, and we have to continue like that," he added.
"Of course, we've played before [against] England teams, we know how they are, and we have to continue like we do."
