FRATTESI FIRES INTER INTO UCL FINAL AFTER BARCA EDGED OUT IN CLASSIC TIE
Davide Frattesi's extra-time winner sent Internazionale through to the UEFA Champions League final, after a dramatic 4-3 victory at the San Siro sealed a 7-6 aggregate success.
I Nerazzurri will contest their second showpiece in the space of three seasons following a classic tie between two of Europe's heavyweights.
Inter broke the deadlock in the 21st minute when Denzel Dumfries sprung the offside trap and fed the returning Lautaro Martinez, who slotted into an empty net.
The skipper was involved again as the hosts doubled their advantage in first-half stoppage time. He was deemed to have been fouled by Pau Cubarsi following a VAR review, and Hakan Calhanoglu made no mistake from the penalty spot.
Barca came roaring back after the restart. Eric Garcia's controlled volley halved the deficit, before a close-range Dani Olmo header - both from Gerard Martin crosses - levelled the tie on the hour mark.
Hansi Flick's side completed the turnaround three minutes from time, and looked like they had booked their place in the final when Raphinha lashed the ball past Yann Sommer at the second attempt from close range.
However, in the 93rd minute, Inter rescued themselves when Dumfries' cross was expertly lifted into the roof of the net by veteran defender Francesco Acerbi.
The hosts then edged their noses ahead in extra-time when, following strong centre-forward play by Marcus Thuram, Mehdi Taremi teed up Frattesi, who brilliantly found the bottom corner to send the San Siro into ecstasy.
Barca pushed for the equaliser. Substitute Robert Lewandowski headed over and Lamine Yamal tested Sommer, but Inter held out to secure their spot at the Allianz on May 31.

'WE FOUGHT UNTIL THE END'
Denzel Dumfries - a scorer of two goals and provider of two assists across the tie - gave his post-match thoughts after Inter reached the final.
"It was a crazy match again, with seven goals," he said. "It was incredible. We fought until the end, and I'm very proud that we're going to the final.
"[Inzaghi is] an amazing manager. Since I arrived, he's been very good for me and the team. It's a compliment to everyone.
"Two years ago, we lost the final. This year, we fight and have our objective. Tomorrow, we will see which team we will face in the final."

THE ITALIAN JOB WELL DONE
Where on earth do we start with that...?!
First and foremost, Inter will contest the UEFA Champions League final in Munich on May 31.
Although, that does not even begin to tell the story of a dramatic night at San Siro.
It was going to be difficult to match the drama and quality of the first leg, but not only did both teams manage to do that, but they exceeded it.
Lautaro Martinez - passed fit at the 11th hour - broke the deadlock, with Hakan Calhanoglu doubling the advantage from the penalty spot before half-time.
However, Barca fought back from the same deficit last week, and did so again with two goals in the space of six second-half minutes, as Eric Garcia and Dani Olmo got them back on level terms.
Hansi Flick's side completed the turnaround in the 87th minute, with Raphinha's strike looking like it would secure their place in a first final for 10 years.
However, three minutes into stoppage time, Francesco Acerbi chose an ideal moment to score his first Champions League goal, ensuring another 30 minutes would follow.
And it would be Inter who ultimately held their nerve, as Frattesi's cool finish in the 99th minute eventually proved enough to finally get them over the line.
The Nerazzurri now have the opportunity to land their fourth European Cup/Champions League crown, 15 years after Jose Mourinho masterminded their most recent triumph.
