BARCA THUMP DORTMUND TO PUT ONE FOOT IN SEMI-FINALS
Barcelona secured a 4-0 victory against Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final in Spain on Wednesday.
Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and 17-year-old Lamine Yamal were on target for the home side, who put one foot firmly in the semi-finals before heading the Germany for the return leg.
It was a blistering start for Barca, who had three chances in the opening seven minutes, but Dortmund held on to keep the score level.
That was until Karim Adeyemi gave away a soft free-kick, which Pau Cubarsi met in the box to steer towards goal, only for Raphinha to cheekily poke home on the line to deny the defender the goal.
Dortmund began to find their groove towards the end of the first half, but Barca doubled their lead just three minutes after the break when Lewandowski headed home from close range.
And with a little over 20 minutes on the clock, Lewandowski steered home Fermin Lopez’s cross for his second and Barca’s third - the Poland international’s 29th goal in 28 matches against his former club.
Yamal added gloss to the scoreline with a neat finish after a ruthless Barca counter, which all but put the tie beyond doubt.

CARNEY ON 'EXQUISITE' BARCA ATTACK
"The front three are just exquisite, they're just ruthless," Karen Carney told TNT Sports.
"We said it was going to be a long evening for Dortmund. It probably should have been a lot more. Barcelona, they're all united and the manager has them all ticking, but it's all about their front three."
Owen Hargreaves added: "I don't think [Barcelona] have a weakness. They're just so good to watch."

'VERY ACCOMPLISHED' BARCA PERFORMANCE
Steve McManaman watched the game for TNT Sports and gave his initial assessment after the match.
"A very accomplished performance, very professional," McManaman told TNT Sports shortly after the whistle.
"They've done tonight what they've done for the majority of the year, which is cruise through games and scored another four. There's much more to come from this wonderful side."

A DOMINANT DISPLAY BY BARCA, A NIGHTMARE FOR DORTMUND
What a night for Barcelona, who have totally torn apart Dortmund at times. The clinical front three of Raphinha, Lewandowski and Yamal were far too hot for the German side to handle, as the Spaniards took complete control of the tie.
They still have to go to Dortmund next week and get the job done, but there is surely no way Hansi Flick’s side will be undone at the rate they are going.
A reminder that they have not lost a game since December.
