Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has defended team-mate Kylian Mbappe from criticism, saying the Frenchman "doesn’t need advice".
Mbappe scored at the weekend in the 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano, but before then had not scored since his hat-trick against Manchester City last month in the UEFA Champions League.
The 26-year-old has attracted criticism for his efforts this year and has admitted he initially struggled following his transfer from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
However, he has also regularly found the net for most of the season, and is on course for at least 40 goals in his debut season in Spain.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of Real's Champions League second leg tie against Atletico Madrid - live on TNT Sports and discovery+ - holding a 2-1 lead, Tchouameni backed his compatriot.
He said: "It's incredible talking about 'difficult days' for Mbappe, because he didn't score in two games?
"We know that if he scores a goal or two tomorrow, everyone will be saying 'he's an incredible player'.
"For us professionals, the most important thing is the next game. Kylian doesn't need advice, he's scored a lot of goals, and he will score a lot of goals."

Tchouameni similarly gave any negativity around his own performances short shrift.
He added: "For me, the most important thing is the next game. You can be the best in the world, but people will talk about your level, saying that they prefer other players. The most important thing is working and trying to improve all the time."
