Barcelona's Raphinha equals Cristiano Ronaldo UEFA Champions League record with goal in incredible Inter semi-final

It was another dramatic night in the UEFA Champions League as Internazionale edged out Barcelona 7-6 on aggregate after extra-time at the San Siro. Though he was on the losing side, Raphinha's goal meant he matched a remarkable record set by Cristiano Ronaldo in 2013/14. The Brazilian's strike was his 32nd goal of the season in all competitions, and his 13th in the Champions League.

Raphinha continued his remarkable UEFA Champions League campaign with a goal that appeared to be decisive in Barcelona's dramatic semi-final second-leg defeat to Internazionale.
With 87 minutes on the clock and the score level at 5-5 on aggregate, the Brazilian forward was picked out in space on the left. His initial shot was saved by Yann Sommer, but he followed it up with a low finish driven into the bottom right corner.
That was Raphinha's 13th goal in the Champions League this season, and he registered a further eight assists from 14 appearances - although he was ultimately left disappointed as Inter levelled in the dying seconds and went on to win in extra-time.
It meant the former Leeds star matched Cristiano Ronaldo's Champions League record of 21 goal contributions in a single campaign, a hugely impressive feat for a player who before this season had only netted a handful of times in the competition.
Ronaldo, Raphinha and Barcelona team-mate Robert Lewandowski are the only players to have breached the 20-goal mark, with Lionel Messi registering 19 goal contributions in 2011/12.
Liverpool's Roberto Firmino (2017/18), Real Madrid's Karim Benzema (2021/22) and Borussia Dortmund's Serhou Guirassy (2024/25) all racked up 17 in their respective seasons.

Raphinha scores what looks like winning goal – ‘That might just be the tie!’

Raphinha, who was in and out of the team under previous Barcelona manager Xavi, has been a revelation this season following the arrival of Hansi Flick.
As well as his prolific scoring in the Champions League, he has hit 16 goals and provided nine assists in La Liga, with Barca on course for the title.
And Flick has unsurprisingly been full of praise for the 28-year-old.
"Raphinha is very important," the German said of Raphinha last month. "I love him, like the other players, but he is a leader. He always has that positive thinking that he manages to pass on to the rest of his team-mates."
