It's defeat for Mourinho's men at the Mestalla and what a missed opportunity this represents for them. Juventus suffered defeat to Young Boys, which means a win here for Man Utd would have seem them finish top of the group. It was a chance they couldn't take.

MATA... wide! That should have been an equaliser. Pogba scoops a clipped pass over the top for Mata, but with the ball coming over his shoulder he scuffs his finish wide. That was a chance!

Rashford has been the only Manchester United player who has looked like he has the will to turn this game around since coming off the bench, so it's no surprise United's goal came through him.

They have three minutes left to find two more goals to finish top of the group. It would be quite the turnaround. Young's cross found Rashford, who heads home from about eight yards out.

That was a decent try from Pogba, but this was a chance for him to hit back at some of his critics, including his own manager, and he has allowed the game to pass him by.

Not the worst effort! Pogba takes aim from about 30 yards out down the left side, but Domenech makes the save to deny the Manchester United midfielder. There was nothing on for him.

United have mounted a series of late comebacks this season - see the game against Juventus in the Champions League a few weeks ago - but there's no sign of one here.

Rashford header! The cross from Valencia down the right side wasn't a bad one, but Rashford just couldn't climb high enough and the header comes off the top of his crown.

Update from Bern... Juventus have got a goal back against Young Boys. They still trail 2-1 with 10 minutes left to play. It was a magnificent strike from the edge of the box from Dybala.

Man Utd have to make the trip to Anfield this weekend to face the Premier League leaders Liverpool. This was a chance for some players to stake a claim for a start. That chance has passed all of them by.

Pereira takes on the strike! The former Valencia midfielder (he was on loan here from United for a season) takes on the shot from 25 yards. It was a vicious strike, but Domenech saves!

Valencia look like they could score another before the night is out. This time, Soler sends a cross right across the face of the Man Utd goal. There was nobody on the end of it.

Straight at Domenech! Rashford drives to the edge of the penalty box and gets the shot away on goal. But it lacked any real power and the Valencia goalkeeper makes the save.
