GOOD EVENING One of the biggest tests of Pep Guardiola's illustirous managerial career awaits at the Etihad Stadium, where his Manchester City side will need to overhaul a 3-0 deficit against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool to reach the Champions League semi-final. It seems a near-impossible task but if any team can do it, it's Guardiola's mesmerising City side, who have blown away the competition to stroll towards this season's Premier League title. But City followed last week's first leg defeat at Anfield with a damaging 3-2 reverse at home to rivals Manchester United at the weekend and Guardiola will have to pick up his players as well as finding a way to stop Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Co. from scoring. An absolute cracker awaits!

PEEEP PEEEEEP PEEEEEP!
That's it! Liverpool reach an 18th European Cup semi-final thanks to second-half goals by Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino. Manchester City, trailing 3-0 from the first leg at Anfield, will feel aggrieved about a disallowed Leroy Sane goal at the end of the first half after Gabriel Jesus had given them a lead inside two minutes.

And at least two more matches to come...

A standing ovation from the Liverpool fans and a massive bear hug from Jurgen Klopp as Mo Salah is replaced by Danny Ings for Liverpool's third and final change.

This game is very much winding down now. City are still in possession and still around the Liverpool area but understandably the sting has gone out of the contest.

In the other game, Roma are 3-0 up against Barcelona and leading on the away goals rule!

Clyne and Klavan for Alexander-Arnold and Firmino for Liverpool.

For the second time tonight, City have a goal disallowed due to a Sane offside. If the first was harsh, this one looks a good call. The German had strayed a yard off before squaring for Gundogan to finish.

GOOOOAAAALLLLLL! MANCHESTER CITY 1-2 LIVERPOOL!
That's it! Liverpool will be in the Champions League semi-finals. Otamendi hopelessly gives the ball way to Firmino, who strolls forward and passes the ball past Ederson. Game over!

A first opening for Aguero as Sane dinks a ball towards the back post for the Argentine. He gets a head to it under pressure from Alexander-Arnold but it's wide.

Ilkay Gundogan, the scapegoat of the first leg defeat, replaces Bernardo Silva, who hit the post in the first half.

Laporte, of all people, tries one from distance which takes a wicked deflection off Lovren and ends up sailing just beyond the top corner of Liverpool's goal. Fine margins.

Commeth the hour. The man Manchester City believe could still rescue this tie is on. Aguero replaces David Silva.

A fourth yellow card for Liverpool tonight, as Van Dijk is booked for a clash with Sterling.

A long-range De Bruyne effort is easily saved by Karius.
No sign of Sergio Aguero yet by the way. Delph and Zinchenko are warming up, though...

GOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL! MANCHESTER CITY 1-1 LIVERPOOL!
Liverpool have a precious away goal and no prizes for guessing the scorer.
Liverpool's best move of the match ends with Mane bursting through the City defence, where he is stopped by a sprawling Ederson. The ball falls to Salah who keeps his goal to dink home yet another goal.

More of the same at the start of the second period, with City dominating possession and looking for openings.
With Guardiola in the stands, Mikel Arteta seems to be in charge of the dugout.
